AREA STAFF OFFICER COOK STEWARD

Within the Specialisation there has been some minor changes to the
Syllabus, but this has been reflected in the new Training Instructions, which is seems is in a clearer format.

There has been a significant number of the Area attending the National Courses, with regards to staff and cadets; however, this year's attendance is down little on previous years. This usually occurring every few years as the trend, and I am sure this will amend its self next year.

The number of cadets attaining 3rd and 2nd class qualification in the Area is relatively low when comparing this to the numbers of Instructors/Examiners.  This may be an untrue picture of the Area status, and is why all Instructors should inform me as to when courses in the Specialisation are going to run and the results of the courses, then a true picture of the Areas development and current status can be drawn.

There appears to be cadets with the badges on their uniforms, which is the priority, but we need to know the areas of weakness and how we can
develop the Specialisation into the next year.

It has been a good year with regards to Cook Steward, and I hope that we can develop it in the coming year; I ask once again ask Instructors/Examiners please inform me as to course being run and the results.  Please do not
hesitate to contact me if there are any problems. Carry on the good work, well done.
